A salon should smell like a calm, clean space, not like the products used in it. AURA treats the air in color, nail and treatment rooms continuously, helping reduce the chemical odors that build up over a busy day.
The air challenge in beauty and wellness
- Product fumes and VOCs from hair color, developers, keratin treatments, acrylics, polish and removers.
- Odors that build through the day as appointments stack up.
- Small treatment rooms with doors closed for privacy.
- Humidity from steam rooms, showers and wet treatments.
- Staff exposure to the same air for full shifts.
How AURA helps
AURA uses cold plasma to oxidize certain VOCs and odor molecules, breaking them down rather than adding another scent to the room. It charges fine particles, such as nail dust, so they settle or are caught by your HVAC filter, and can inactivate certain bacteria, viruses and mold spores under tested conditions.
Where to place units
| Space | Why it matters | Suggested units |
|---|---|---|
| Color and styling floor | Product fumes at every chair | 1 per 376 sq ft zone |
| Nail studio | Acrylic, polish and remover odors | 1 per 376 sq ft zone |
| Treatment and massage rooms | Small, private, doors closed | 1 per room |
| Reception and retail | First impression | 1 |
| Mixing and dispensary | Odor at the source | 1, away from sinks |
Good to know
- Ventilation still comes first. AURA does not replace local exhaust, ventilated nail tables or any ventilation required for chemical services by code or your licensing board.
- Keep units away from shampoo bowls, steam rooms, showers and spray, and not directly under an A/C unit.
- With BOOST off, AURA is designed for continuous use while clients and staff are present. Never aim a unit at anyone's face.
- No filters to change. A dry-cloth wipe every few weeks keeps it working.
AURA supplements HVAC filtration and ventilation; it does not replace them. Not a medical device; not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Laboratory results reflect specific test conditions and vary with room size, airflow, installation and use. Ozone statements apply with BOOST off.
