The kitchen should be the only thing guests smell. AURA treats the air in dining rooms, private rooms and restrooms, helping keep stale and unwanted odors from following guests to the table.
The air challenge in food service
- Odors that drift from the kitchen, fryer and dish area into the dining room.
- Restroom odors that guests notice and remember.
- Stale air in private dining rooms and booths with the doors closed.
- Bar and lounge odors from spilled drinks, carpets and soft seating.
- Morning mustiness when the room has been closed up overnight.
How AURA helps
AURA uses cold plasma to oxidize certain odor molecules and VOCs rather than masking them, which matters in a room where fragrance competes with food. It also charges fine particles so they settle or are caught by your HVAC filter, and can inactivate certain bacteria, viruses and mold spores under tested conditions.
Where to place units
| Space | Why it matters | Suggested units |
|---|---|---|
| Dining room | Where guests spend the evening | 1 per 376 sq ft zone |
| Private dining rooms | Doors closed, full tables | 1 per room |
| Bar and lounge | Spills, soft seating, crowds | 1 or more by size |
| Restrooms | Odor control without fragrance | 1, mounted away from sinks |
| Host stand and entry | First impression | 1 |
| Office and staff room | Small closed rooms | 1 |
Good to know
- Front of house only. Do not install AURA on the cook line, near fryers, grills or dish machines, or anywhere it will be exposed to grease, steam or spray.
- Not a hood replacement. AURA does not replace kitchen exhaust, make-up air or any ventilation required by code.
- With BOOST off, AURA is designed for continuous operation during service. Never aim a unit toward guests' faces.
- No filters to change. A dry-cloth wipe every few weeks keeps the grilles clear.
